Fortunately, the Queen’s plans fail, she’s burnt at the stake, and the rape victim and her rapist go on to live happily every after. I’m sure that there are also dozens or hundreds of less quality breeders including puppy mills in the state. But the above links are where I would start any search looking for an ethical breeder producing healthy dogs. There are at least four that are members in good standing of the national breed club and AKC breeders of merit: National Shiba Club of America Breeder Referral. There are also two regional breed clubs in California: Shiba Club of Southern California and Shiba Fanciers of Northern California.
